On
Thursday, May 28, 2009, the Greater Orlando Chapter of ASIS
International proudly hosted their 12th Annual Law Enforcement
Officer Appreciation Luncheon (L.E.O. Awards) at the beautiful Rosen
Shingle Creek Resort.
John F. Clark, Director of the
United States Marshals Service, emceed this event.
According to ASIS
International's website, this event
has proven itself to be the best and largest Law Enforcement
Recognition and Awards Program in the Southeast United States.
Recognizing over 135 of the “Best of the Best” among
Central Florida Law Enforcement during the last 11 years.
Annually, the event draws approximately 600 attendees, including the
Sheriffs of four counties, Chiefs of Police from area departments,
Directors of Security, Hotel and Resort Management and other
business leaders. Commissioner Sheehan is honored to be able
to attend this event every year and this year made her attendance
even more memorable due to the fact that Officer Jim Young, the
District 4 OPD Liaison Officer, was being honored with the
Community Policing Award for 2009.

OPD Officer Kevin Geschke is honored with the Valor/Heroism Award
for bravery.

the K-9 Award.
