On Friday, December 2, 2011, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer joined visitors and residents Downtown at Lake Eola Park for Holiday Lights Orlando. Holiday Lights Orlando is the premiere holiday event for families, Downtown businesses and residents. The highlight of the evening was the lighting of the majestic 40-foot Norwegian spruce Christmas tree, adorned with thousands of holiday lights. This year, Holiday Lights Orlando featured Trinity Lutheran Downtown’s annual Christmas special and show, The Gift followed by an outdoor viewing of How the Grinch Stole Christmas, starring Jim Carrey.
