Mayor Dyer’s 7th annual Neighborhood & Community Summit was a tremendous success with more than 300 neighborhood and community leaders and volunteers participating. The City wants to thank and recognize the following businesses that were the 2012 Summit sponsors: Doubletree Hotel at the Entrance to Universal Orlando; Towne Park; Orlando Federal Credit Union; LaPrensa; Leland Management Group; Minimally Invasive Solutions; OUC - The Reliable One, and; The Continental Group, Inc.

Participants had the opportunity to visit 43 different exhibits and attend workshops designed to inform, connect and provide resources necessary to build a strong, vibrant community that is the best place to live, work, retire and raise a family. Mayor Dyer conducted two Ask Your Mayor workshops that were a big hit with the participants. “This gets better every year, great job!” commented one participant. Another participant wrote “Great event – very informational – thank you!”

During the luncheon Mayor Dyer presented his annual Community Builder Award to the First United Methodist Church of Orlando and his Neighborhood Champion Award to Tommy Chappell with the Spring Lake Manor Neighborhood Association in the Rock Lake neighborhood. By Monday, March 26. Click here for copies of workshop materials, if supplied.
