Division Description:

Welcome to the City of Orlando Parks Division. We are one of many divisions responsible for keeping the "City Beautiful" This includes overseeing the parks, street tree canopy, right of ways and grounds throughout the City. There are over 100 parks located through out the City, in neighborhoods and adjacent to Community Centers. There are scenic parks, exercise courses, bike paths, open spaces and playgrounds.

Our Division is comprised of the several programs designed to serving the City through design, construction and maintenance of the Parks and open spaces. Our programs include: Forestry, Environmental Horticulture, Grounds Maintenance and Green-Up Orlando.

Awards

Past events:

National Public Lands Day 2011:  September 24, 2011.  National Public Lands Day was celebrated with special activities and demonstrations including fishing, nature art projects, animal farm tours, hiking, disc golf, boating, and camping.  The Nature Connect Trail, a 1/4 mile trail of art, music and climbing built by volunteers was open to visitors.

‘Seedlings for Civil Rights’ Day of Service:  January 16, 2012 at John Young Corridor, 2600 Orange Center Blvd.  Plant seedlings for civil rights on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday.

Central Florida CISMA Potato Raid:  January 21, 2012 Help protect the environment while having fun.  Locations throughout Central Florida.

Orlando Wetlands Festival 2012:  February 18, 2012 Exhibitors, Tree Climb, Kids crafts and much more.
