Event: 2007 Florida Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics
SUMMARY:
The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics is an international event in
which law enforcement officers from around the world run the globe to raise
funds and awareness for Special Olympics. The funds raised support the thousand
of athletes with mental and physical disabilities who compete in a wide variety
of athletic events in the Special Olympic games.
The 2007 Florida Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics in Orange
County, Florida will be one huge multi-agency event. Hundreds of law enforcement
officers will complete the 3.9 mile run/walk which will be held on Tuesday,
April 24, 2007.
The event will begin at the Orange County Courthouse at approximately 10:00am
and end at the Russell Home for Atypical Children, which is located at 510
Holden Avenue.
Local officials, leaders and members of law enforcement will meet at the Orange
County Courthouse at 9:30am and walk, run or bike the 3.9 mile course.
