Fire Recruiting

From time to time, City of Orlando accepts applications for Firefighters. To qualify, candidates must be Florida-certified Firefighter/EMTs or Firefighter/Paramedics. The first step is to complete a pre-application online. Use the following link to get to the City’s Jobs page— cityoforlando.net/sigma, click Login, then click Register. You will need an email address to do so. Then click on the button that says “Jobs Accepting Interest Cards” and scroll down to find Firefighter X.  We will then notify you when the next recruitment for Firefighter begins.

General Information
The minimum requirements for Firefighters at City of Orlando include:

  • United States citizenship

  • Certification as a Firefighter in the State of Florida and
Certification as an EMT or Paramedic in the State of Florida

  • The City of Orlando does not recognize reciprocity, national certifications, nor do we accept certifications from other states.

If you already have those certifications and are interested in working for the Orlando Fire Department, please submit a pre-application online at cityoforlando.net/sigma.
