Exhibition Overview

This Country Life: Since 2001 Richard Colvin has lived in a rural setting, specifically South Lake County in Florida. Often he finds the landscape reminiscent of his childhood, a significant part of which was spent in rural Florida, away from the crowds of the attractions. This series was painted (and printed) during 2007. It is dedicated it to the artist’s parents, Josephine and Ronald P. Colvin, his wife Ann, and their blessed Wolf.

Richard Colvin is an artist and longtime museum professional who brings an alternative viewpoint to his works. Rather than concentrate solely on one style or manner of expression, he prefers to work in series that he feels combine new subjects with appropriate mannerisms. Originally a classically-trained painter and printmaker, Colvin moves back-and-forth between the traditional, the modern, and the postmodern. He is equally at home with a brush, an etching needle, or a personal computer. His work is available for viewing at his web site, www.richardcolvin.net.
