Artist Bio
Within the six short years
since Beverly Gustafson "sort of backed into photography"
she has immersed herself in the craft and developed a
distinctive body of work that showcases a remarkable
attention to detail and an instinctive elegance of
composition. Arresting pieces range from vivid
botanical still lifes with more of a traditional resonance
to computer-generated montages that are otherworldly and
often serene.
Beverly is currently
president of the Polk County Camera Club, on the board of
the Professional Photographers Guild of Mid-Florida, and a
member of the Florida Professional Photographers
Association. She is also a member of the Ridge Art
Association, where her "Sun Drops" photograph won third
place in the October 2006 Revelations exhibit. Beverly
also volunteers her skills and time to the students at
Davenport School of the Arts in Davenport, Florida.
The City of Orlando's Public
Art Department is honored to offer Beverly Gustafson her
first solo exhibit, with Harry P. Leu Gardens providing the
perfect setting.
