Donna
Frank
“At the
moment between sundown and darkness or sunrise and the light
of day there is a transformative spirit of place which I try
to capture in my paintings. For this current show I have
focused upon downtown Orlando, highlighting its
architectural beauty and human activity. Instead of
depicting the city scenes in a harder, more angular style I
have used a much stronger painterly style. The effect is
more loose and organic.” –Donna Frank
Donna Frank has
exhibited throughout Massachusetts, in Vermont, and in
Florida. Past Florida exhibits include the Maitland Art
Center (2003 and two shows in 2005), the Leslie Boyd Gallery
(2003 - 2005) and at the Comma Gallery Studio in 2006, among
others. In 2006 she was also selected to be an artist in
residence at Comma Gallery and was an artist in residence at
the Scott Laurent Collection in Winter Park, Florida just
this past year. This artist’s work has been added to the
collections of CNL Bank in Orlando, Mosaic in Orlando and to
the Seastone collection in West Tisbury, Massachusetts.
Donna Frank has a Masters of Education as well as a B.F.A in
Painting and Printmaking. Graduate studies were conducted in
France and Italy.
The City of
Orlando’s Public Art Department is honored that Donna Frank
created a number of paintings specifically to be debuted in
the Mayor’s Gallery.
Albert Pfeiffer
Architect
Albert Pfeiffer turned his hand to painting fine art in the
1970s. His prior experience as curator of the Knoll Museum
in Pennsylvania and current experiences as a tour guide at
Harry P. Leu Gardens offer fuel to this artist’s interest in
rendering character studies. In Florida, Mr. Pfeiffer’s work
has been on display at the Winter Park Public Library, at
the Disney/SBA Entrepreneur Center, and at the Central
Florida Art Show in Mount Dora, among other exhibits. He has
also exhibited in New York and Spain. His illustrations have
appeared in a number of publications including Fortune
Magazine and The New York Times.
