ORLANDO (CityofOrlando.net) – The City of Orlando is now home to one of the finest performing arts centers in the world. On a beautiful fall day, the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts officially opened on Thursday, November 6.
Mayor Buddy Dyer joined local leaders to mark the opening of the Dr. Phillips Center with a ceremony outside on the Seneff Arts Plaza. Thousands of residents were in attendance, celebrating the 330,000-square foot building, which includes a pair of theaters.
“Today truly is a once-in-a-lifetime day and event in the life of our city. With the opening of the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, we take our place on the world’s stage,” Mayor Dyer said.
Following the grand opening event, the community was invited into the Dr. Phillips Center to tour the venues.
