On Saturday, October 10 the Orlando Police Department will host the annual Orange County Domestic Violence Task Force Domestic Violence Awareness Walk. The free event at Harbor Park in Baldwin Park begins at 9 a.m.
The event will feature a 2.7-mile walk around Lake Baldwin.
October is nationally observed as Domestic Violence Awareness Month to take a stand against violence and to be the voice for millions of women, men and children who are victims of abuse.
On the day of the event, Task Force partners will set up tents and tables to distribute domestic violence awareness information, and live music will provided by a DJ.
The Orange County Domestic Violence Task Force was formed to shine a light on the issue of domestic violence to support and conduct primary prevention activities and to provide research about the needs of organizations that serve or advocate for domestic violence survivors.
Harbor Park is located at 4990 New Broad Street.
