“Goosebumps” is based off of the R.L. Stine book series published in the 1990s and features Jack Black, Odeya Rush and Dylan Minnette.
Here are four fun facts about the film to get you excited:
A Box Office Success
Goosebumps is the seventh most successful horror comedy movie, making over $80 million dollars. Goosebumps was number one in box office rankings in its opening weekend.
There are more than 30 monsters that make an appearance during the film. For all the special effects it took to bring Stine’s monsters to life, producers had to cap the creature count at 30.
A Long-Awaited Scare
The movie was originally scheduled to be produced in 1998 by Tim Burton. George A. Romero was hired to adapt the books into a film and a complete draft even existed. The movie was finally released on October 16, 2015.
Be On the Lookout
Keep an eye out for R.L. Stine himself, he actually makes a surprise cameo during the film. Stine’s character name is Mr. Black, a nod to Jack Black himself.
