The City of Orlando is working toward becoming a zero waste community by creating policies and standards that help encourage commercial and residential recycling. By utilizing single-cart recycling, which allows residents to combine recyclables such as cans, plastic, paper and glass into one bin, Orlando has been able to increase residential recycling rates.
In the 20 months since the single-cart recycling bin rollout, 5,000 new homes have joined the City’s recycling efforts.
