If you see a pink police Charger stationed outside of a local breast cancer awareness event, it’s a statement of support being made by the Orlando Police Department. On October 1, OPD unveiled the Charger at City Hall during “Hope Hike,” a walk that many survivors and current patients took part in to support and advocate breast cancer awareness at.
With the help of UF Health Cancer Center at Orlando Health, OPD was able to decorate the police car in order to make a bold statement in support of those diagnosed with breast cancer.
The vehicle is one of the many ways OPD and the Orlando Fire Department have helped raise awareness. Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday this October, City of Orlando fire fighters have traded in their standard blue T-shirts for pink.
