Dr. Phillips Center Update
The first workshop today will be on the Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts. Chuck Steinmetz, representing the Dr. Phillips Center Board of Directors, will be providing an update on the Dr. Phillips Center’s accomplishments in 2018, the progress of Steinmetz Hall and the Green Room and giving us a glimpse of what’s ahead for them.
Creative Village Workshop
Economic Development Director Brooke Bonnett will present the second workshop today on the Creative Village, the transformation of the 68 acres that was once home to the Amway Arena and CentroPlex, into a mixed-use, innovation district that will provide residents with a new path to education, careers, business, housing and community.
A public-private partnership in its truest form, the Creative Village is a development we’ve been envisioning for more than a decade – and its first phase will open later this year with a new downtown campus and housing for residents at all income levels, with future phases of development to follow.
