About the Board
The City of Orlando District 5 Youth Advisory Board is currently a 20 member board that represents a cross section of unprivileged and privileged youth from public and private school systems. The Youth Advisory Board focuses on enhancing community outreach, expanding career exploration, and updating career preparation. The primary responsibilities we manage includes: fundraising, marketing, media relations, coordination of district events/ service projects, and youth peer mentoring.

The City of Orlando District 5 Youth Advisory Board is committed to serving youth of all backgrounds. We try to promote positivity within our community through city events and our initiatives. This is accomplished through:

- Career Explorations
- High School Senior Year Assistance
- Peer Mentoring and Tutoring.
- Internships and Job Shadowing
- Job Opportunities
- Community Service

Anyone addressing the Youth Advisory Board must email our Board Deputy Chief of Staff Ethen Ortiz.
The Board Executive Team will work towards preparing the youth of our community for their future careers. Workshops and internships can be provided to the district’s youth to improve their chances of getting into their desired schools.
- Registration for recreational programs
- After-school programs, aquatics, pottery, etc.
- Board outings (twice a month)
- Community outreach to connect and embrace with the youth all across Orlando.
