bronzeOn Saturday, July 31, 2010 Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, District 6 Commissioner Samuel B. Ings and the Orlando Police Department (OPD) unveiled bronze statues honoring Officer Richard A. Jones and Officer Belvin Perry, Sr., the first African American officers hired by OPD in 1951. The ceremony took place at the roundabout intersection of Wooden Boulevard and Hankins Circle.
