Commissioner Gray toured the OUC headquarters to get a better

Sanford Burnham Medical Research Institute Research Seminar Series
Commissioner Gray attended a reception for the Institute’s speaker
series where they invite scientists to discuss their research.

Commissioner Gray, along with Officer Edgar Malave, attended the
Vista Lakes Master Association meeting.
Commissioner Gray participated in the East Orlando Chamber of
Commerce Golf Tournament
Commissioner Gray participated in the Florida Coastal Clean Up at
Lake Rabama. Residents from Mai Kai Condos and Dover Estates,
Officer Edgar Malave, City of Orlando Keep Orlando Beautiful staff,
and Timberland Corporation volunteers joined together and planted
trees and removed debris from the lake and surrounding area. Not
only were 16 heavy 10' tall trees planted, 15+ bags of trash
collected from Lake Rabama (including a tire), new Team partnerships
were made among so many diverse folks. We could not have done it
everyone's help. Many thanks to all who participated.
Commissioner Gray met with Rick Howard, Director of the Public Works
division and his staff to learn more about the infrastructure and
the behind the scenes workings of the City of Orlando.
Commissioner Gray served as a panelist for the East Orlando Chamber
of Commerce "Annual Narcoossee Corridor Update" hosted by Wycliffe
Bible Translators. The panel discussion focus was infrastructure and

The University of Florida's Research and Academic Center officially
opened in Lake Nona today. The UF Research Center joins the already
established Sanford-Burnham Research Institute, the University of
Central Florida College of Medicine and the Burnett Biomedical
Sciences Building, in addition to the Nemours Children's Hospital.
The UF Research and Academic Center currently has a staff of 50
employees and when programs staff up over the next several years,
the center will employ as many as 200 professionals.
Scientists from the UF Research and Academic Center and Medical City
will collaborate to target treatments for cancer, heart disease,
diabetes and brain disorders.
