Meeting
The January meeting of the Semoran
Business Partnerhsip (SEBUPA) will be on Thursday, January 19,
2012. They will meet at the Acceleration Academy located
at 2274 S. Semoran Boulevard, Orlando, FL at 8:00 am.
The Semoran
Business Partnerhsip (SEBUPA) met on Thursday, November 17,
2011. Facilitators during this month's meeting were: Mrs.
Kea Council, OPD Neighborhood Watch Coordinator, Ms. Wanda Diaz,
Florida Highway Patrol Senior Trooper and Mr. Jason Reynolds,
Orange County Government Neighborhood Preservation Department.
The October 2011 meeting of the Semoran
Business Partnership was hosted by the Hispanic
Business Initiative Fund. They met at the National Entrepreneur
Center located at the Fashion Square Mall. A presentation
by every organization located at the National Entrepreneur
Center was given to the attendees.
The Semoran
Business Partnership met on Thursday, September 22, 2011.
Commissioner Tony Ortiz and Jackson Middle School Principal,
Eddie Ruiz, explained how the College and Career Readiness
Program is going to work and announced that it will be launched
on November 16, 2011. State Representative Darren Soto
gave updates from Tallahassee and Antwan Nelson and Ada Tirado
of Orange County Neighborhood Preservation and Revitalization
introduced the Community Design Assistance Program.
The Semoran
Business Partnership met on Thursday, August 18, 2011.
Pauline Eaton, City of Orlando Economic Department Coordinator
and Orlando Main Street/Market Street Coordinator, gave a
presentation on the SEBUPA Designation as a Market Street.
The Semoran Business Partnership met on Thursday, July 21, 2011.
Special guest this month was: Orange County Sheriff Jerry
Demings. New members: Orlando International Airport
(GOAA), Ana G. Mendez University and Palkiper Commercial Real
Estate Services.
The Semoran Business Partnership met on June
16, 2011 at the Acceleration Academy. Special guests this
month were: Orlando Deputy Chief Larry Swieg, Orange County
Sheriff's Office Sector 2 Commander, Captain Lee Massie and OPD
Captain April Hastings.
The Semoran Business
Partnership met on May 19, 2011 at the Acceleration Academy.
Special guests during this
month's meeting were Mayor Buddy Dyer and Orange County
Commissioner Lui Damiani.
The Semoran Business
Partnership celebrated their regular monthly meeting at the
Acceleration Academy on April 21, 2011.
The Semoran Business Partnership celebrated
their regular monthly meeting on March 17, 2011. Starting this
month, they will meet at Acceleration Academy, located at 2274
S. Semoran Boulevard.

On December 16, 2010, the Semoran Business
Partnership joined District 2 Neighborhood Leaders Council for a
Holiday Celebration.
District 2 Business Owners Council met on
Thursday, November 18, 2010. This time the Council met at the Orlando Police Department
Communications Center located at 110 Andes Avenue, Orlando, FL. They
toured the 9-1-1 Center and received two presentations.
One by Mr. Juan Triana, President of the Semoran Business
Partnership and one by Mr. Bruce Hossfield, City Senior Planner,
who gave them updates on the Semoran Vision Plan.
It was informed to the members that the name
of the District 2 Business Owners Council changed to Semoran
Business Partnership effective 11/18/2010.
The September meeting of the District 2
Business Owners Council was held on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at
the Dover Shores Community Center. A presentation by the Dr.
Phillips Performance Arts Center was given to the Business
Owners.
The July 15, 2010 meeting of the District 2
Business Owners Council included a tour of the Orlando Police
Department Training Center (Gun Range) located at 100 Andes
Avenue. Several members enjoyed the tour that included a
live demonstration of fire arm shooting.
The June District 2 Business Owners Council
meeting was a special one. Both councils met and a Semoran Vision
presentation was given by Mr. Bruce Hossfield, City Senior
Planner. More than 30 members attended the meeting.
The District 2 Business Owners Council met on
Thursday, April 8, 2010 at the Engelwood Community Center.
During this meeting Commissioner Ortiz showed a PowerPoint
presentation related to the Sun Rail. After the
presentation the floor was opened to questions.
The District 2 Business Owners Council met on
Thursday, February 11, 2010 at the Dover Shores Community
Center. Guest speaker during this meeting was Mr. J.
Edward Ramos, Area Manager for the U.S. Small Business
Administration, who provided a presentation about the services
provided by his office.
The District 2 Business Owners Council meeting
took place on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at the Engelwood
Community Center. This year instead of a meeting,
Commissioner Ortiz combined both councils (Business Owners and
Neighborhood Leaders) for an evening of networking and Holiday
sharing.
The District 2 Business Owners Council Meeting
took place on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at the
Engelwood Community Center. The participating Businesses
discussed the formation of the Semoran Business Partnership
Group.
The District 2 Business Owners Council met on Thursday,
August 13, 2009 at the Engelwood Community Center. Bruce
Hossfield, City Senior Planner and Commissioner Ortiz gave a
presentation on the "Vision of the Semoran Boulevard"

NEXT MEETING - The next meeting of the
District 2 Business Leaders' Council meeting will be on
Thursday, October 15, 2009 at the Engelwood Community Center
The fifth meeting of the
District 2 Business Leaders' Council was held on Thursday, May
21, 2009 at the Dover Shores Community Center. Twelve
Business Leaders attended. Lucia Soto, from Fairwinds
Credit Union gave a presentation on their services.
The fourth meeting of the District Two Business Leaders'
Council was held on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at the Engelwood
Community Center. Twenty-Six Business Leaders from
different businesses got together for an evening of sharing
information and ideas. The council meets every other
month.
