Commissioner Patty Sheehan's & The Carroll Adams Group's Since 2005, Orlando City Commissioner Patty Sheehan, in partnership with, and through the generous, financial sponsorship of, The Carroll Adams Group, has been giving away free back-to-school supplies to the children living in the Reeves Terrace public housing community. Every year, Commissioner Sheehan and The Carroll Adams Group has provided free, brand new backpacks filled with school supplies to all elementary and middle school children, registered as living in Reeves Terrace. “The children living in Reeves Terrace are some of Orlando’s neediest and brightest,” Commissioner Sheehan says. “These are children who aren’t always afforded the best and whose parents do not have the financial means, especially in today’s tough, economic climate, to equip them with the necessary tools to tackle going back to school. Through the generous sponsorship of The Carroll Adams Group and coordination through my office, we have been able to provide over one hundred boys and girls with a free backpack and supplies to be ready for their first day back to elementary and middle school every year.” 2011 makes the seventh year Commissioner Sheehan has partnered with The Carroll Adams Group to give school supplies away in the Reeves Terrace public housing community. The Carroll Adams Group, an Orlando-based company founded by Ted Carroll and Katherine Adams Schaller, is an innovative global supplier of furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) and operating supplies and equipment (OS&E) procurement and design services for the hospitality industry.
Every year, Commissioner Sheehan, Ted
Carroll and Katherine Adams Schaller have been extremely excited
about this event. They look forward to ensuring that over one
hundred of Orlando’s most vulnerable children will report to their
first day of school on equal footing with the rest of Orange
County’s students. The backpacks are filled with many school
supplies such as pencils, pens, glue, paper, tissues, hand
sanitizer, crayons (depending on age of child), calculators
(depending on age of child), notebook portfolios, dividers, tape and
highlighters.
