Commemoration of First Year Anniversary
of the Earthquake in Haiti
Remembering Haiti- the Earthquake
On January 12, 2011,
District 6 Commissioner Samuel B. Ings and the Global
Haitian Advancement Through Education and Sports (GHATES)
held the Remembering Haiti - the Earthquake. This cultural event
celebrated the Haitian Culture and commemorated the one
year anniversary of the tragic earthquake while bringing
awareness to the continued needs of the Haitian people.
Town Hall Meeting Commissioner Samuel B. Ings in co-sponsorship with
the Global Haitian Advancement through Education and
Sports (GHATES) hosted the District 6 Haitian Town Hall
Meeting on November 9, 2010 from 6-8pm at the City Hall
Council Chambers. We were able to bring together the
Haitian Community and created a vision for the important
upcoming event to commemorate the 1st year anniversary
of the earthquake that devastated Haiti.
