Office of Multicultural Affairs

Welcome to the Office of Multicultural Affairs Website.

The Office of Multicultural Affairs reflects Mayor Dyer’s genuine commitment of providing the diverse ethnic community of Orlando with the most comprehensive information on the services provided by the City to its residents. We provide leadership in creating and implementing outreach initiatives to serve as the voice and link with minorities in the community in regards to their needs and concerns.
In addition, we serve the local business community by identifying resources that allow us to support small businesses and, at the same time, help us develop strategies to promote Orlando as an attractive and ideal region to establish, relocate and expand Latin American companies.

Also, we act as the Mayor’s spokespersons to communicate with the Hispanic community through the Hispanic media, public affairs, matters and news such as special events, public policy, municipal ordinances, neighborhood programs, and grants for faith based organizations and non profits, and the promotion and expression of arts and cultural events, among others.

The City offers support to residents through the Hispanic Office for Local Assistance (HOLA), which provides assistance to families, residents and businesses relocating to the City, by providing them with information on government aid, housing, education, recreational parks and other services. For more information, please click on HOLA in the menu or call 407.254.HOLA (4652).

Those of us who work in the public service are fortunate to have the extraordinary opportunity of serving our community through our positions. It is an honor to represent my fellow townspeople through this historic feat that, beyond our cultural differences, inspires us to unite as people.

Luis M. Martinez Alicea,
Multicultural Affairs Director
