Orlando Fire Department Installs Smoke Alarms
To Save Lives
 

WHAT: On October 23 and October 26, during National Fire Prevention Month, the Orlando Fire Department will be installing smoke alarms in homes without a working alarm in the Palomar area of College Park. During the two days, the Orlando Fire Department plans to make contact with the 247 homes in that neighborhood. In the past two months, OFD has installed more than 325 smoke detectors in homes without working alarms.

WHERE: Palomar Subdivision
Maury Road and Wilder Lane
 
WHY: In the United States, nearly 80% of fire deaths result from fire in homes without working smoke alarms.
