On Saturday, November
3, 2007, Commissioner Samuel B. Ings will host the first
Accelerated Reading Rally at the Dr. I. Sylvester Hankins Park.
Commissioner Ings will celebrate the top ten readers from five
elementary schools in District 6. The Accelerated Reading
Parade & Rally is a partnership between the Commissioner’s
Office, Eagle’s Nest, Richmond Heights, Eccleston, Catalina and
Washington Shores Elementary schools and the Orange County
Public Library, created with the goal of promoting good reading
habits amongst elementary school children and to reward students
who have met their reading goals for the school’s first
nine-week grading period. |
