Mayor Dyer and Commissioner Wyman Forge Partnership with UCF to Launch City’s First Business Development Center

WHAT: On Tuesday, Mayor Buddy Dyer, District 2 City Commissioner Betty T. Wyman and UCF President Dr. John Hitt will open the City’s first mixed-use business development center. The Orlando Business Development Center is designed to promote economic development through the growth and success of entrepreneurial companies.

Commissioner Wyman worked with the City’s Economic Development Department and the University of Central Florida to form a partnership that will provide business support, education and networking services to “incubate” new and existing small business.

Four local businesses, D3 Interactive Marketing, OC Grant Consulting Associates, LLC, Thorell Associates and Social Security Advocates, are the first businesses selected to participate in the Orlando Business Development Center. The Center will be able to support a total of 15 businesses with start up space, management coaching, business plan writing assistance, administrative services, technical support, business networking, referrals, advice on intellectual property and sources of financing.

 

BUSINESS BACKGROUND: D3 Interactive Marketing is a full-service interactive advertising agency that assists small and medium-size businesses with using the internet to maximize existing business and to drive new business opportunities.

OC Grant Consulting Associates, LLC provides technical assistance and grant consulting services to nonprofit, faith -based and community-based (FBCOs) organizations for the purpose of enhancing their ability to identify, secure and retain funding to serve their clients and customers. Additional services include prospect research, grant proposal writing, grant proposal review, grant writing training, and post-grant support. OC Grant Consulting Associates also provides grant reviewing services for foundations, corporations and government entities.

Thorell Associates serves the public relations and marketing needs of businesses and not-for-profit organizations, particularly those dedicated to improving the environment, public health and safety.

Social Security Advocates helps clients navigate the Social Security Disability process from initial intake through the appeals council.
