Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, Commissioner Stuart Host
Open Completed Park System in Baldwin Park

 
WHAT: On Saturday, Mayor Dyer and District 3 City Commissioner Robert F. Stuart will officially open the final section in the 175-acre public park system in Baldwin Park.

Harbor Park, along with Blue Jacket Park, Lake Baldwin Trail and the Central Florida Veteran‘s Memorial Park, provide outdoor amenities for exercise, recreation and relaxation with facilities for baseball, basketball, soccer, tennis, track & field, serene natural settings, and more than 6.5 miles of trail to walk, run, bike or rollerblade. The parks will be dedicated to the 650,000 recruits who were stationed on the site when it was the Orlando Naval Training Center from 1969 to 1997.

Since 2003, Mayor Dyer has opened or renovated 50 parks, ball fields and community centers, building on the City’s 1500 acres of park and community space.

 

WHEN: Saturday, January 26, 2008
11:00 a.m.  Activities including an interactive DJ, bounce house, displays by the Orlando Fire and Police Departments, and a putting green from Dubsdread Golf Course begin
