On this patriotic day, more than 125,000 people are
expected to join Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer to celebrate Fireworks
at the Fountain in Downtown Orlando. Fireworks at the Fountain
brings excitement to all ages at Lake Eola Park. Festivities
begin at 4 p.m. with two stages of live entertainment and
children’s activities in the Centra Care Children’s Area.
A special booth, run by Rochelle’s Boots on the Ground, will be
accepting donations toward care packages for our troops. Started
by a local seven-year-old, this group sends custom care packages
to the men and women serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. They are
currently sending more than 200 packages a month to individuals
in all branches of the service from all over the United States.
At 9:15 p.m., Mayor Dyer will kick off the unique fireworks
display featuring more than 5,000 “booms” spanning over 20
minutes to commemorate the 2008 Fourth of July celebration.
Attendees for Fireworks at the Fountain should arrive early to
reserve their spot around Lake Eola to view the City’s firework
display.
Mouth-watering and affordable 4th of July
cuisine will be available for purchase throughout Lake Eola
Park.
