The City of Orlando continues to
monitor Tropical Storm Fay. According to the National Hurricane
Center, residents can expect heavy rains, slight wind gusts and
a minor possibility of tornados overnight.
Accordingly, all residents are encouraged to stay off the roads
unless it’s absolutely necessary.
Residents should also note the following information:
The City of Orlando Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and the
Emergency Information Line, 407-246-4268, will close at 6 p.m.
today, Tuesday, August 19, 2008. The City will continue to
monitor the situation for any changes.
WEDNESDAY: City Hall will be open Wednesday as normal.
WEDNESDAY: Orange County Public Schools will be open
Wednesday as normal.
WEDNESDAY: The City will pick-up yard waste as regularly
scheduled.
Additional information will be relayed through the City's web
site and through print and electronic media as soon as it
becomes available.

Residents may also tune into the City’s emergency radio station,
1650 AM, for information on the storm. This new service provides
information both before and after a storm, and is especially
designed for residents who lose power during a storm.
