MAYOR BUDDY DYER HOSTS NEIGHBORHOOD STABILIZATION INFORMATION MEETING
City of Orlando is encouraging community partners to
learn how they can help strengthen our community.

WHAT: As part of Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer’s Strengthen Orlando plan, the City has secured 6.7 million from the Department of Housing and Urban Development to implement a Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP). This program will help address the effects of foreclosures by forming public/private partnerships to purchase, rehabilitate and sell/rent homes. In addition, this program will assist qualified buyers with down payment assistance and financial counseling.

The City is hosting an informational meeting to provide an overview of the NSP activities and timeline and the Request for Proposal (RFP) process. The RFP is scheduled to be issued on April 27, 2009 and funding will be allocated in July.

“Our NSP has been designed to engage a strong set of community partners to address foreclosures” said Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer. “I encourage all our community partners to attend our NSP information meeting and learn how they can help strengthen our community.“
