Nation’s Top Transportation Official to Talk Rail with Florida Leaders

On Monday, October 5th, United States Department of Transportation Secretary Ray H. LaHood will meet with elected leaders and members of the businesses and civic community from across Florida joined by U.S. Congresswoman Corrine Brown, U.S. Congressman John L. Mica and Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer to discuss the future of rail transit in the sunshine state.

With Florida’s transportation future at a pivotal crossroads, Secretary LaHood is expected to use this briefing session as an opportunity to talk about the need for Florida’s state and local governments to develop a unified approach to the connectivity between all current and planned rail projects and the state’s future high speed rail network.
