Mayor Dyer Breaks Ground on New Housing
Development in Parramore Community

Tuesday, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, District 5
City Commissioner Daisy Lynum and Wells Landing Developer Hanton
Walters will break ground on Wells Landing, a new urban-planned
community in Parramore featuring a variety of mixed-income;
single-family, owner-occupied houses and townhomes.
Home ownership opportunities have grown substantially in
Parramore with more than $10 million invested since the
launch of Mayor Dyers Pathways for Parramore initiative in
2005, resulting in a total of 34 new and rehabilitated
homes with 271 new housing units in the near future
including the Wells Landing development.

In June 2009, Mayor Dyer and Commissioner Lynum
announced that since the Pathways for Parramore initiative
launched, the City has leveraged more than $35 million of
City, state, federal, public and private investments, community
resources to make significant strides in transforming this one
square mile community block by block: helping lifelong renters
own their first homes, opening new restaurants and retailers and
even attracting national headquarters to invest in Parramore.
