Central Florida Women to Gather in Celebration of the late Marilyn Mennello, a ‘Woman of True Grit’

WHAT: Women in Central Florida are invited to a book signing event to honor the late Marilyn Mennello, who is highlighted in the new book Women of True Grit during a special event. Tina Savas, the co-author, will be at the Mennello Museum of American Art to speak about Orlando art and civic leader Marilyn Logsdon Mennello’s contributions to the art world and why she was the first woman interviewed for the book.

A woman committed to the cultural community, Mrs. Mennello, along with her husband Michael, established the Mennello Museum of American Art in 1998 in Orlando. Mrs. Mennello was a resident of Orlando since 1962 and became known throughout the community for her strong philanthropic spirit and passion for art.

In Women of True Grit, the late Mrs. Mennello is honored as a pioneering woman of vision, along with other American luminaries such as Meredith Vieira and Dr. Betty L. Siegel. Those who are featured in the book broke new ground in business, media, arts and medicine.
