City of Orlando Employees Raise More than $400,000 for Central Florida Charities through Workplace Giving Campaign
Orlando, FL (April 12, 2011) – Thanks to the generosity of City of Orlando employees, Mayor Buddy Dyer and City Commissioners made check presentations totaling more than $400,000 in donations to charity organizations at this week’s City Council meeting. Through the City of Orlando’s Workplace Giving Campaign more than 1,000 City employees participated in the 2010 fundraiser, surpassing the $350,000 goal.
“The Workplace Giving Campaign is one of the many ways City employees show their commitment to the community and give back,” said Mayor Buddy Dyer. “Through their monetary contributions, our employees help address some of the most critical issues facing Central Florida.”

The majority of donations went to one of eight major organizations including America’s Charities, Heart of Florida United Way, Community Health Charities of America, Earth Share, Global Impact, Independent Charities of America, Local Independent Charities of America and Neighbor to Nation.
