Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer to Work-along
with City Staff to Install New Sidewalks and Increase Pedestrian Safety
To continue to improve public safety, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will
work-along with City of Orlando Public Works staff and Schuller
Contractors to install new sidewalks in Orlando neighborhoods as part of
the first phase of construction for the City’s sidewalk project, Orlando
Orlando Walks will help to improve pedestrian safety by providing a safe
and connected sidewalk system. The new sidewalk locations were
determined based on proximity to schools, parks, bus routes, retail
locations and SunRail stations.
During the work-along, Mayor Dyer will assist workers as they pour and
smooth cement to create a new segment of sidewalk in Orlando. The
completed stretch of sidewalk will connect the surrounding neighborhoods
to an office park, retail and restaurants in the area. It is part of a
total of 18 miles of new sidewalk expected to be constructed during the
first phase of the project.
