City of Orlando Oath of Office Ceremony

WHAT:
Orlando residents are invited to attend the Oath of Office ceremony for Mayor of Orlando and City Commission Districts 1, 2, 4 and 6. The ceremony will celebrate the swearing in of Mayor of Orlando Buddy Dyer, District 1 Commissioner-elect Jim Gray, District 2 Commissioner Tony Ortiz, District 4 Commissioner Patty Sheehan and District 6 Commissioner Samuel B. Ings for four-year terms on the Orlando City Council.

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will be sworn into his third full term, District 1 Commissioner Jim Gray will be sworn into his first term, District 2 Commissioner Tony Ortiz will be sworn into his second term, District 4 Commissioner Patty Sheehan will be sworn into her fourth term and District 6 Commissioner Samuel B. Ings will be sworn into his second full term on the City Council.

WHY:
The Oath of Office reaffirms each elected or re-elected official’s commitment to faithfully perform all the duties as Mayor and District City Commissioner of the City of Orlando. The City of Orlando’s Charter requires the Mayor and City Commissioners to recite the Oath before they enter into the duties of office.
