Parramore Kidz Zone Students Compete for the
Smartest Kid in the Zone Title

WHAT:
On June 28, 2012, students from Parramore will go head-to-head answering questions about math, reading, pop culture and more to compete for the title of the “Smartest Kid in the Zone.” Landra Robeson, Legislative Aide to District 39 State Representative Geraldine Thompson, will serve as the moderator at the tournament that allows Parramore Kidz Zone students to show off their academic skills in this communitywide “brain bowl” style competition. The first place winner in each of the three age groups will win an iPad.

In addition, the Enterprise Foundation will present the Parramore Kidz Zone with a $1,500 check to assist with activities and programs that reward students with incentives for making good grades.

WHY:
The Parramore Kidz Zone aims to reduce juvenile crime, teen pregnancy, and high school drop-out rates in Orlando’s highest poverty, highest crime neighborhood. PKZ is achieving this by investing in things that make a difference in children's lives - such as quality early childhood education, after school programs, programs that build family economic success, youth development programs for teenagers, access to health care, mentoring, and more.

WHEN:
Thursday, June 28, 2012
4:00 p.m.

WHERE:

Dr. J.B. Callahan Neighborhood Center
101 North Parramore Avenue, Orlando, 32801
