Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer to Hold Annual State of Downtown Address at Amway Center

WHAT:
Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will deliver his 2012 State of Downtown Address on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, on the floor of the LEED Gold Certified Amway Center. This annual event held by the Downtown Orlando Partnership provides a forum for Mayor Dyer to share the City’s progress on the revitalization of Downtown Orlando with Central Florida residents, business owners and downtown workers.

This year’s topic will focus on the City’s Green Works Orlando initiative and will be highlighted by featured speaker, Nancy Sutley, Chair of the White House Council on Environmental Quality, who will speak about the role of the federal government in partnership with cities like Orlando to develop and meet sustainability goals.

At this year’s address, Mayor Dyer will also announce the launch of the next phase of Green Works Orlando – community engagement and planning. This sustainability plan will serve as a road map to steer future policies, developments and investments.

Since 1982, the Downtown Orlando Partnership (DOP) has held the State of Downtown Address as their annual fundraising event.

MEDIA:
Parking will be available for members of the media on the first floor of the GEICO Garage.

Media satellite trucks should park on Church Street in front of the Amway Center near Division Avenue.
