sanitary and affordable owner-occupied housing in the Parramore
neighborhood through new construction, substantial rehabilitation, and
homeownership assistance by identifying potential residential
development opportunities.
Strategic Initiatives
-
Preserve,
protect and enhance existing neighborhoods in Parramore
- Promote homeownership in Parramore
- Commit to construct 300 new
residential units within two years
- Leverage catalytic opportunities
created by the Carver Park and Parramore Village projects to create a
revitalized south neighborhood village
Announced Tuesday, June 14
The
City’s Housing Department acquired approximately 6 acres of land in the
Parramore neighborhood on and surrounding the Parramore Village Site.
Today, the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the redevelopment of the
Parramore Village site will be issued and information is now available
for interested parties at City Hall. This process will be followed by a
Request for Proposals (RFP). Over 40 new housing units are expected as
part of this redevelopment.
In an effort to promote new homeownership in Parramore, the City is
developing a program to offer single-family, low-density incentive
programs and tax increment rebate programs offered through the Community
Redevelopment Agency for the development of moderate and market rate
single-family housing.
