PUBLIC SAFETY UPDATE
Mayor Buddy Dyer Joins Orlando Police
Officers in
Parramore Heritage Neighborhood Door-to-Door Campaign
On
July 6, 2005, as part of Pathways for Parramore, Mayor Buddy Dyer joined
Orlando Police Officers in the Parramore Heritage Neighborhood, and
walked door-to-door to pass out packets including valuable City and OPD
information on housing rehabilitation, public safety programs, as well
as a message from District 5 Commissioner Daisy Lynum. This was also an
excellent opportunity for police officers to begin building
relationships with residents.
Mayor
Dyer also cruised the Parramore Heritage Neighborhood with Toni Shinn, a
familiar face to the community, who runs a grassroots non-profit
organization. Toni is working with Parramore children and their parents
to determine interests, financial needs, and help them fill out the
forms to enroll in summer programs. Mayor Dyer and Toni talked to
parents and students about enrolling in free summer programs, including
programs especially targeted for teens in an effort to provide safe,
supervised activities.
