Law Enforcement Torch Run

On Tuesday, April 27, Orlando Police Department (OPD) officers participated in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. This international event included law enforcement officers from around the world who run to raise funds and awareness for the Special Olympics.

The 2010 Law Enforcement Torch Run began at Cypress Grove Park and traveled 3.2 miles to the Russell Home for Atypical Children on Holden Avenue. All law enforcement agencies from Orange County participated in this event. The funds raised will support the thousands of athletes with mental and physical disabilities who compete in a wide variety of athletic events in the Special Olympic Games.
