Spencer Hawkins, FAEM
Deputy Emergency Manager

Spencer Hawkins has been the Deputy Emergency Manager for the City of Orlando since 2003. Before that, he worked as a Regional Emergency Response Coordinator for the Florida Department of Health, Office of Emergency Operations as well as a Special Projects Coordinator for Orange County Emergency Management. Spencer is currently a member of Central Florida's Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT) as a Logistics Officer. To date, he has been involved with many disasters and special event situations such as Sept. 11th, Anthrax/White powder response, International G-8 Summit, hurricanes Charley, Frances, Jeanne, Katrina, Rita, and Wilma. Spencer has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Central Florida in Public Administration, as well as certification as a Florida Associate Emergency Manager (FAEM). He is currently pursuing his Masters Degree in Criminal Justice at the University of Central Florida.
