Orlando, FL: Disaster preparedness is possible
and the City of Orlando Office of Emergency Management and American Red
Cross of Central Florida want to show you how to do it!
Join us on Saturday, May 3rd from 11am - 5pm for the
5th annual Mission: Possible training event. At Mission: Possible,
you'll learn how to make a family plan, build a disaster kit, get
trained in basic first-aide and CPR, as well as what volunteer
opportunities are available and the importance of giving blood. These
free workshops will be taught simultaneously in English and Spanish. The
information provided in these workshops will empower you to make a
difference in the community, while protecting yourself and your loved
ones from disaster situations.
Also, we invite you to check out the Hispanic Advisory
Network's Health and Safety Fair in the morning to learn the importance
of good health and safety. Additionally, participants will enjoy a free
delicious hot dog and hamburger lunch, a Kid's Zone with a bounce house
for the little ones, and the opportunity to meet with representatives
from local, state, and federal emergency management, including FEMA.
Finally, the evening will conclude at 6pm with a Citizen Emergency
Response Team drill hosted by Orlando Fire Department.
Come find out how easy and important it is to prepare
for emergencies at this year's Mission: Possible!
