Lake Eola Heights and
Lake Lawsona Historic Districts
©City of Orlando, 2000

The Lake Lawsona Historic District was platted and developed between 1911 - 1950. It is characterized by lakes, parks, bungalows, brick streets and the Washington Street business district. This District is illustrative of the growth patterns of the City in the first half of the Twentieth Century.

A citrus grove until the freezes of 1894-1895, the Lake Eola Heights Historic District was developed between 1905 and 1925 on a gridded street system. Lake Eola Heights offers an eclectic mix of architectural styles on tree-lined brick streets. Examples of the Craftsman style, frame vernacular, Mediterranean Revival and Colonial Revival can be found throughout the District. Distinctive early Twentieth Century churches can be found in Lake Eola Heights.
