CITY OF ORLANDO DEBRIS REMOVAL INFORMATION
Update: See Residential Debris Site
Information
ORLANDO, FL (August 17, 2004) – To comply with Federal Emergency
Management Agency (FEMA) requirements, the City of Orlando is picking up debris
caused by Hurricane Charley in two phases:
Phase 1: Clearing streets and drains -- underway this week
Phase 2: Removing yard and construction debris – will take up to 4–6 weeks
For city pick up, please separate construction and yard debris and place it
between the curb and the sidewalk, or on the edge of the yard. Do not put debris
in street, as this blocks roadways. City contractors will remove debris citywide
as quickly as possible. [Update August 19: The
Orlando Fire Department requests that citizens take care to not pile debris on
or around fire hydrants.]
