ORLANDO, FL (August 19, 2004) -- Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and Orange County Chairman Richard Crotty will work side-by-side today joining efforts to distribute ice to Hurricane Charley victims who still face the challenges of not having electricity.

As of 6 a.m. today, the Orlando Utilities Commission reports that crews are working 16 hours a day to restore power to 24,000 remaining customers without power.

The Mayor and Chairman will distribute ice at 11:00 a.m. at Barber Park, 3701 Gatlin Ave. between Conway and Dixie Bell, in the Conway area.
