7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
ORLANDO, FL
(August 26, 2004) – The City of Orlando announced Thursday a designated site for
City residents to haul personal yard and tree debris.
The designated site location is on the north side of the City, on the northeast
corner of Ferris Street and Montana Street. To access the site, residents are to
turn south off Virginia Drive into Ferris Street. The site will be available on
weekends beginning 7 a.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2004, and the operation will
continue as long as there is a need.
The site is
only available on Saturdays and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
-
The site is
only for City of Orlando residents.
-
In order to
use the site, proof of residency (such as a driver’s license or utility bill)
must be shown to the debris monitor at the site.
-
The debris
handled is only green waste and is NOT for garbage or building material.
-
The site is
NOT available for commercial haulers or for landscapers.
At the
beginning of each week, the City will collect the debris so the site is ready
for use again the following weekend. In addition, the City will document the
volume of debris collected for FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency)
records.
The City of Orlando thanks Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) for allowing the
designation of the site.
