CITY OF ORLANDO PRESENTS
14TH ANNUAL JACK-O-LANDO’S PUMPKIN PALACE

ORLANDO, Fla. (October 12, 2004) – The City of Orlando will host the 14th annual Jack-O-Lando’s Pumpkin Palace, a non-scary trick-or-treating event, on Saturday, October 23, 2004, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Dover Shores Community Center located at 1400 Gaston Foster Road. Admission is $3 per person.

As part of the City’s commitment to children and families, this event provides safe and fun trick-or-treating through themed rooms for children 11 years old and younger. Activities include hayrides, friendly costumed characters, a parent-child costume contest and a treat for every child participating in the costume parade. More than 1,000 children and their families attend this annual event.

Donations of baby items will be accepted for B.E.T.A. (Birth, Education, Training, Acceptance, Inc.), a center dedicated to enhancing the parenting skills of teen parents through intensive education and counseling programs.

For more information on Jack-O-Lando, please call Peter Effaldana at the City’s Families, Parks, and Recreation Department at 407-246-3818 or call Dover Shores Community Center at 407-381-2708.
