MAYOR DYER ANNOUNCES NONPROFIT CORPORATION AND LEADERSHIP FOR PERFORMING ARTS CENTER

WHAT: Mayor Buddy Dyer will announce the establishment of a nonprofit corporation and its leadership, which will be responsible for studying and developing a performing arts center in downtown Orlando.

WHERE: Tent on Orange Avenue, across the street from Orlando City Hall
(potential site for new performing arts center)

WHY: Under the Board Chair, Jim Pugh, and Vice Chairs Jim Seneff and Dick Nunis, a 21-member planning board is being formed to determine the ideal performing arts center for the Metro Orlando region. Serving as ex-officio members of the planning board are Orange County Chairman Rich Crotty, Mayor Buddy Dyer and UCF President John Hitt.
