ORLANDO, FL (November 3, 2004) -- Mayor Buddy Dyer invites the public to join
him Saturday, November 6, 2004, at 10 a.m. for a parade in the streets of
downtown to show support for our veterans, active duty, reserve military and
National Guard members.
“This is a chance to thank them for their substantial contributions in the name
of freedom,” said Mayor Dyer.
Mayor Dyer and Orange County Chairman Richard Crotty will lead the 100-unit
parade as various military units, vehicles, floats, marching bands, ROTC units,
honor guards and representation from most of Central Florida’s Veterans
organizations follow. Earl K. Wood will serve as parade grand marshal.
The parade route begins at the corner of Orange and Amelia, heads south on
Orange, ending at Orange Avenue and South Street.
