Payment Agreement is Reached
Officers to Receive Longevity and Shoe Allowance Pay
City and FOP Representatives Return to the Negotiation Table
Orlando, Fla. – Agreement has been reached by
the City of Orlando and representatives of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge
#25 (FOP) on the amount of longevity and shoe allowance payments, which will
expedite the payment of approximately $600,000 to the officers. Both the City
and FOP representatives have also agreed to return to the negotiation table to
discuss other outstanding issues.
“We have been working toward this resolution for some time and are pleased that
we have reached common ground,” said Mayor Buddy Dyer. “It has always been our
desire to make the funds available to the officers and we have been able to work
together to make it happen. We look forward to further positive discussion and
an ultimate resolution.”
The agreement reached today also brings to a close two grievances filed by the
FOP. “These joint agreements are a positive sign and both sides are hopeful that
a resolution on other outstanding issues in the pending contract can be
reached,” said Sam Hoffman, Labor Committee Chairman FOP Lodge #25.
